COVID-19: Death toll crosses 500-mark as 15 more die in J&K | KNO

Srinagar, Aug 12 (KNO): The death toll due to Novel Coronavirus has crossed 500-mark in Jammu and Kashmir as 15 more patients who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died in the Union Territory on Wednesday. The overall death toll due to the virus has reached 507. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 15 patients who died include a 25-year-old man from Dangiwachi Baramulla, a 78-year-old man from Lal Bazar Srinagar, a 60-year-old man from Alastang Ganderbal, a 65-year-old woman from Khanyar, a 68-year-old man from Rainawari Srinagar, a 60-year-old man from Nawabazar Srinagar, a 70-year-old lady from Rafiabad Baramulla, a 65-year-old man from Chadoora Budgam, a 70-year-old man from Kralagund Handwara, a 62-year-old lady from Eidgah Srinagar, a 54-year-old woman from Harwan Srinagar, a 60-year-old man from Bagtore Gurez, an 80-year-old Woman from Murran Pulwama, a 70-year-old man from Marhama Anantnag and a 50-year-old woman from Larkipora Anantnag. An official at SKIMS said that a 25-year-old man from Dangiwachi Baramulla who was admitted on 11 August died on Wednesday. He said that a 78-year-old man from Lal Bazar Srinagar who was admitted on 24 July also died on Wednesday. He added that a 60-year-old man from Alstang Ganderbal who was admitted on 27 July died on Tuesday evening. He further added that a 65-year-old woman from Khanyar Srinagar who was admitted on 11 August died on Wednesday. An official from SMHS said that a 68-year-old-man from Rainawari who was admitted on 06 August with COPD, bilateral Pneumonia and other ailments died on Wednesday. He further added that a 60-year-old man from Nawabazar Srinagar who was admitted on 04 August with Pneumonia died on Wednesday. The patient from Chadoora was admitted on 03 August with bilateral Pneumonia while as patient from Qazi Abad Kral gund Handwara was admitted on 06 August with Pneumonia and both died on Wednesday. He further added that a patient from Rafiabad Baramulla who was admitted on 09 July with Hypertension and bilateral Pneumonia and a woman from Eidgah who was admitted on 07 July also died on Wednesday.  An official from CD hospital Srinagar said that a 54-year-old woman from Harwan here who was admitted on 04 August died on Wednesday.  An official from Bandipora said that a 60-year-old man from Bagtore Gurez died on the way to Srinagar after being referred from Gurez hospital and was tested positive through a rapid antigen test. An official from District hospital Pulwama said that a 78-year-old lady from Murran area of Pulwama died on Wednesday. An official from GMC Anantnag told KNO that a 70-year-old man from Marhama Anantnag and a 50-year-old woman from Larkipora Anantnag who were undergoing treatment from past many days died on Tuesday. With 15 fresh deaths, the death toll due to COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 507 including 470 from Kashmir division and 37 from Jammu division—(KNO)
